One incident will not harm relations between Pakistan and the United States, Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani said on Friday.
“Pakistan has an important role in the war against terrorism and the nation is united against it. We want good relations with all neighbouring countries,” the prime minister told reporters after inaugurating a newly-constructed Emergency Centre at Jinnah Hospital. He announced that Rs 55 million would be to the hospital for development work.
Gilani said he was in favour of Saraiki province.
“The army is being withdrawn from Balochistan on the demand of the stockholders of the province,” he said adding that the deployment of FC was also decided on the demands of various political parties of the Balochistan.
“The FC will work under the Balochistan chief minister,” Gilani said. He said the government was following the policy of national reconciliation, adding that people would find out when new alliances would be made.
Gilani said his government was contacting all political parties. “The MQM is a coalition partner in the Sindh government and there is a hurdle if the MQM joins the federal cabinet,” Gilani said. To a query about the killing and torching of nationalists in Sindh, the prime minister said the chief minister had already ordered an enquiry into the matter.
Meanwhile, Gilani approved an allocation of Rs 50 million for the construction of Lyari Sports Complex, saying that its early completion would generate healthy activities in the area. During his meeting with Singh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and Sindh Governor Ishratul Ebad at the Sindh Governor’s House.
Gilani urged the Sindh government to complete the development projects launched with the support of the federal government on priority.
