Husband and wife doctors booked for negligence

Husband and wife doctors were booked for being negligent during a cesarean delivery case in which a mother and her baby both were expired.
Reportedly, Javid Iqbal, a resident of 3 Kassi Kabirwala, filed a petition in the court of Khanewal Additional District and Sessions Judge Taqir Javid alleging that on March 21, 2011, he, along with his wife Rahat Bibi, reached a private hospital where Dr Altaf and his wife Dr Shahida Altaf admitted his wife in the hospital.
They said the condition of Rahat Bibi was very serious and the baby would be delivered through a cesarean section operation. They demanded Rs 16,000 as fee and she was operated in the hospital.
Dr Altaf and Dr Shahida termed the condition of the patient very serious and advised to shift her to a private hospital in Lahore where a stillbirth baby was delivered and later Rahat was also expired.
The petition was decided by Khanewal Additional District and Sessions Judge Tariq Javid who ordered the city police to register first information report (FIR) against Dr Altaf Mohiudin group.
The residents of the area have protested and demanded Khanewal District Coordination Officer (DCO) Rashid Mahmood take stern action against such private hospitals which are involved in killing innocent people.
TWO WOMEN KILLED IN SEPARATE ROAD ACCIDENTS: At least two women were killed and two children seriously injured in separate road accidents in Khanewal. In the first incident, Hajran Bibi, a resident of Chak No 169/10R Khanewal, died in a road accident.
In the second incident, a trailer hit a woman Muqadas Bibi of Chak No 88/10 killing her instantly. In the third incident at Khokharabad Chowk, a trailer hit a bike injuring two young boys Saddam and Waseem seriously.
