CPSP to celebrate Golden Jubilee Year

College of Physicians and Surgeons of Pakistan (CPSP) is entering into its golden jubilee year. The concluding ceremony of the golden jubilee year will be held in May 2012 which will be attended by the royal colleges of UK, Canada, and Australia.
Professor Zafarullah Chaudhry, president CPSP, along with Professor Khalid Masood Gondal, vice president, Professor Tariq Mahmood Khan, vice president and Professor Syed Tipu Sultan, convener of the Golden Jubilee celebrations at a press conference said that the golden jubilee of the college will be celebrated at all four provincial headquarters and Karachi. The joint golden jubilee ceremonies at Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta and Islamabad centres will be attended by delegates of prestigious medical institutions from SAARC countries, whereas royal colleges of UK, Canada, Australia and other royal colleges of world will attend the ceremony at CPSP headquarters, Karachi.
An international medical conference will also be conducted on this occasion. The CPSP president said that the association is the second institution after Canada offering specialisation in 67 disciplines. Along with providing training to more than 90 percent of fellows and trainees, the college is also providing effective monitoring. All 13 regional centres are video linked and centers in Nepal and Saudi Arabia are well coordinated and working effectively. New centers are being setup in Gulf countries, including Dubai, UAE and Kuwait.
The degree of CPSP is included among the top seven degrees of the world because of its structured training transparent examination system. Due to this, the demand of CPSP fellows is increasing in Saudi Arabia as a result of the MoU signed between the Saudi deputy health minister and CPSP during his recent visit.
CPSP will send specialist doctors to Saudi Arabia for six months with an emolument of 50,000 Saudi riyals per month and other fringe benefits. The first group of specialists comprising 30 doctors from all provinces will leave for Saudi Arabia on May 15 for three months.
