Activist of banned outfit killed near airport

An activist of banned organisation was shot dead near the airport on Friday. Police said that unidentified men on a motorcycle opened fire on Nadeem, 40, near Star Gate. The victim died on the spot and his body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.
Separately, unidentified miscreants torched a minibus of route No G-25 in Gulistan-e-Jauhar. Police said that the people protesting the killing of Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz leaders in Sanghar might be behind the incident.
BODIES FOUND: An unidentified girl’s tortured body was recovered from a deserted place in Baldia Town. The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH). Separately, a man’s tortured and bullet-riddled body was found on the Suparco Road in Baldia Town. Police identified the man as 35-year-old Tariq Abdul Rasheed. The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK). Police did not find any political affiliation of the victim.
MISHAPS: A minor was killed and a labourer injured when part of a building collapsed on top of them in Memon Society, Khadda Market. Police said that labourers were demolishing an old building when part of it collapsed on top of the unsuspecting victims. Komal Khushboo, 6, died on the spot, whereas Abdul Rehman was injured.
They were shifted to the CHK. Separately, a man was injured while resisting a robbery attempt near Habib Chowrangi in the SITE-A area. Police said that an unidentified man was trying to rob Fazal Karim, 35, who was shot on resistance. He was shifted to ASH.
