The Punjab government has dropped the parking plaza project near the Bhatta Chowk, Pakistan Today has learnt.
According to an official in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif, during his visit at the Bhatta Chowk two months ago, desired for the construction of a multi-story parking plaza to cater to the parking needs in the wake of fast commercial activities in the area. He said that the CM had ordered officials to prepare a proposal and a feasibility report; however, the project could not be materialised due to land acquisition problem. “It is not the provincial land; the area falls into cantonment’s jurisdiction,” he explained.
