“Where man is borne to heaps of trash and succumbed to distress, my presence itself is a question. I just paint questions,” artist Irfan Gul Dahri says. Dahri continues that he usually expresses his self in mixed media on wasli or paper, and that his imagery incorporates human figures, seeds, plungers, tops and text.
“I try to portray my observation and understanding through an experimental effort that is based mainly on manipulating the surface by creating different layers, textures and fine details,” he adds. Thus, it keeps improving Dahri’s media and imagery. Moreover, he believes that his work takes its own path and resolves on its own, once he starts expressing what he feels. Photos courtesy VASL Art
