Court orders case against DSP for releasing PO

An additional district and sessions judge (AD&SJ) on Thursday ordered to register a criminal case against Chauhang DSP Qamer Mansoor
on the charges of releasing a
proclaimed offender.
The court issued theses orders on a petition filed by Punjab Police Inspector Ghulam Dastagir, who contended that Iqbal, who was caught by DSP Qamar, killed his wife, Shahnaz, and his father, Yasin. He said that the DSP, instead of taking a legal action against Iqbal, allowed him to leave the police
station respectfully.
The counsel for Dastasgir produced the evidence and witnesses in court about the presence of Iqbal in the police station. On this, the court directed DSP Investigation to register a criminal case against DSP Qamer and produce a report before the court.
Dastagir was dismissed from service after Iqbal had submitted an obscene video of Uzma and Dastagir to the former CCPO Pervaiz Rathore. Former CCPO dismissed Dastagir and ordered an inquiry. During the inquiry, Dastagir presented a certificate of marriage and a certificate of divorce with Uzma. However, during the course of inquiry, marriage and divorce certificates were proved fake.
A case was then registered against Dastagir in the Nawakot Police Station on Iqbal’s complaint. Later, the father and wife of Dastagir were allegedly murdered by Iqbal in Satokatla
police precincts.
