KARACHI – The Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) has assured the government that it would not increase the power load shedding duration. According to an official statement issued on Wednesday, a meeting was convened at the behest of Sindh Electric Power Minister Shazia Marri that was presided over by the provincial Electric Power Secretary Rabia Javari Agha.
It was also attended by the representatives of the KESC, the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) and the Pakistan State Oil (PSO). The KESC representative informed the participants of the meeting about the decreased supply of gas and furnace oil to the power utility, but said that efforts are being made to keep the load shedding duration to the minimum.
The SSGC representative said that the problem of gas supply shortage would be resolved by April 30. The PSO representative stressed the need to clear his organisation’s dues.
