KARACHI – Keeping in view the future potable water requirements, the Pakistan Steel Mills, the Port Qasim Authority and other major organisations must be convinced to set up seawater desalination plants, said Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan told the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) managing director on Wednesday.
“Apart from the K-IV and S-III projects, there should be a plan on the desalination of seawater as well,” he said during a briefing by the KWSB held at the Governor’s House. It was decided in the meeting that the KWSB would be financially strengthened, and that the S-III and K-IV projects would be made part of the Public Sector Development Programme.
