Aziz indicted on murder charge

RAWALPINDI – An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday indicted former Lal Masjid khateeb Maulvi Abdul Aziz on charges of murdering a member of Pakistan Rangers.
His wife Umme Hassan, daughter Tayyaba and 21 other people were also indicted on the same charge in the court of ATC judge Malik Muhammad Akram Awan, who heard the case of the Special Forces’ attack on Lal Masjid on July 3, 2007.
The attack, launched during the regime of former president Pervez Musharraf against occupants of Lal Masjid, resulted in the death of more than 150 people. Next hearing of the case would be held on May 3.
