LAHORE – The United Kingdom on Tuesday refused to hand over former president Pervez Musharraf to Pakistan.
As per details, a court had issued Musharraf’s arrest warrant in the Benazir Bhutto murder case, but the British government formally informed the government in Islamabad that the former president could not be handed over to Pakistan as Pakistan and UK had no treaty regarding the exchange of accused.
The sources added that after the British response, a meeting was held at the Interior Ministry to discuss the situation, adding that Musharraf might be arrested upon his return to the country.
