KARACHI – Two water extraction pumps installed at the Pipri Pumping Station have stopped working, the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) announced on Tuesday.It said that the faulty pumps are being repaired on an emergent basis and they pupms would become functional by Wednesday evening. Until then the city would face a water shortage of 17 million gallons.
Normal water supply would be restored from Thursday. It was pointed out that some areas where water supply would be affected due to faulty pumps include the Defence Housing Authority, Landhi, Korangi, Malir, Bin Qasim, Qayyumabad and the PAF Base Korangi.
