LAHORE – Shining club beat Punjab Club by two wickets to qualify for the quarter-finals of the East Zone Cricket Championship 2011. The semi-final will be played on April 25 at LCCA Cricket Ground, Lahore. In a thrilling match, Punjab Club scored 163 all out in 34.1 overs in their innings. Kashif Ejaz scored 36, Sheraz Butt 34 and Shoaib Akram made 33 runs.
Sarmad Anwer and Usman Malik bagged three wickets each for Shining, while Humayun Farhat took two. In reply, Shining Cricket Club chased the target for the loss of eight wickets in 32.1 overs. Humayun Farhat scored 38, Imran Farhat 35 and Asif Khan played a special inning of 33 runs under immense pressure. M. Faisal took four wickets while Imran Ali took two for Punjab Club.
