ISLAMABAD – Once in-charge after winning the next general elections, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf would teach the present rulers how to deal with generals and to run the state affairs properly, PTI Chairman Imran Khan said on Tuesday. “We will teach the so-called leaders how to control the generals and also to stop the drone attacks” Imran said at a joint press briefing with the representatives of British human right organization “Reprieve” here at National Press Club. He said the American senator clearly announced that Pakistani government had allowed them to carry out drone attacks in their region. “Present rulers are now hoodwinking people by condemning the drone attacks,” the PTI chairman said.
He added the PTI on 23rd and 24th of April would stage sit-in in Hayatabad Peshawar against the drone attacks. He also invited all political parties to his proposed sit-in against drone attacks. “It’s a national cause and it’s our duty to raise our voice against US’ policies” he added. Speaking on the occasion, Reprieve’s director Clive Stafford Smith said the drone attacks prove that US war against terror was actually a war in which innocent people were killing on the basis of fake information. “Our mission to Pakistan leads us to believe that American drones, guided by highly questionable US intelligence, indiscriminately kills innocent people, including children” he added.
He said that Americans were playing videogames with the innocent lives of Pakistanis which was causing radicalization, adding that such acts increases the danger to all including Americans. He further said that they were meeting affected people and helping them with litigation in the US, UK, Pakistani, and International Courts.
Another representative of Reprieve, lawyer Mirza Shahzad Akbar informed that they would soon file a writ against drone attacks in international court of justice. “We would seek justice from the court for the drone affected families” he added.
