Police restricted from booking or arresting PML-Q leader

KARACHI – The Sindh High Court restricted the Home Department and police on Tuesday from registering a case against PML-Q leader Malak Changaiz and his five relatives or arresting them without taking permission from the apex court till May 11 and directed the Hyderabad RPO to appear before the court on the next date of the case’s hearing. A single bench comprising Justice Aqeel Ammed Abbasi extended the previous court order that is set to expire on April 20.
It was issued by the SHC on Oct 20, 2010 for six months. On Tuesday, the council for the applicant advocate Khuwaja Naveed argued that the court had passed an order on Oct 20, 2010 that restrained the authorities from registering any case against Malak Changaiz and his five relatives or arresting them without the permission of the court until April 20.
