KARACHI – The federal anti-corruption court on Tuesday issued non-bailable warrants for the arrest of absconding officer in the NICL scam, Amin Qasim Dada, and issued production order for Ayaz Khan Niazi. After the failure of the accused to appear before the trial court against his alleged involvement in illegal expenditure on renovation and purchase of furniture, the judge issued arrest warrants for Dada. Meanwhile, the court ordered jail authorities to produce Ayaz Khan Niazi, former NICL chairman, accused of being involved in corruption worth millions of rupees.
The former chairman has been charged with involve in embezzlement of funds while awarding the contract of renovation and purchase of furniture. The FIA have registered a separate case regarding the prima facie embezzlement of NICL funds in the award of contract of paint work and furniture to a favoured company.
