HAFIZABAD – Punjab Task Force on Education Chairperson Saira Afzal Tarar has said that promotion of education is the top priority of the provincial government which is spending billions of rupees for this purpose. She was addressing a foundation stone-laying ceremony of development schemes in “model village” Rasoolpur Tarar declared by the Punjab chief minister during his visit to the district last year. She said 47.5 percent funds would be spent on the completion of various schemes in the “model village” to provide clean drinking water, pavement of streets and installation of street lights.
She added the Punjab government was spending Rs two billion on the completion of various development schemes to provide educational, communicational and health facilities across the district Hafizabad under different development programmes.
She further said the provincial government had released Rs 200 million for widening Hafizabad-Sukheki Road and added that the construction work on this scheme would be launched during the current financial year.
MURDER MYSTERY RESOLVED: The mystery of a woman’s killing in village Kassoki was resolved as the son of the deceased was involved in the offence. Reportedly, Nargis was murdered when she was sleeping alone at her house. Kassoki police suspected that she was murdered by any of her relatives. The police investigated the case and found her son involved in the murder.
