Democratic process put on rails by govt’s reconciliation policy: Gilani

ISLAMABAD – Reiterating government reconciliation policy, Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has said that democratic process has been put on rails by virtue of the reconciliation policy of the government.
This policy, he maintained, has introduced a new culture of accommodation and consultation with all the political parties for deciding issues of national importance.
The Prime Minister expressed these views while talking to Ms Raheela Baloch, MNA, Ms.Fauzia Wahab, MNA and Mr.Ghous Bux Mahr, MNA who called on him separately at Prime Minister’s House here on Wednesday.
The Government was able to evolve consensus on NFC award and constitutional amendments pursuing this policy, he added.
In line with this policy, the Prime Minister declared that govt was allocating development funds to all the parliamentarians irrespective of their political affiliations.
Appreciating the role of women parliamentarians, the Prime Minister observed that their performance was very encouraging.
They were not only taking part in legislation process but also actively pursuing the development schemes of their respective constituencies, he added.
The Parliamentarians appreciated the Prime Minister for his interest in the development of all the areas. They also apprised him about the progress of various on going development schemes in their constituencies.
