Shahbaz takes up drone issue with China

BEIJING – Drone attacks are causing deaths of hundreds of innocent citizens and had become a serious issue for Pakistan, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif told office-bearers of the Chinese Communist Party on Monday, adding that mistakes of former rulers had turned Pakistan from a land of peace into a hotbed of terrorism. Addressing the event, Shahbaz said every drone attack bred a new batch of terrorists.
Earlier, Shahbaz was accorded a warm welcome by the senior leadership of Communist Party of China when he arrived in Beijing on Monday for a five-day visit. Addressing a reception hosted in his honour immediately after his arrival at the Beijing Airport, Director General Foreign Affairs Wing of the Communist Party Zhang Xuyi, said Shahbaz’s visit as the head of the biggest province of Pakistan was an honour for the Communist Party, the Chinese government and the people.
Shahbaz said he had come to China with an agenda of seeking Chinese cooperation for Punjab in education, health and energy sectors.
