LAHORE – Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) is likely to formally invite Mutahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) to join its two-day protest against drone attacks on the Pak-Afghan Highway. The PTI says the demonstration scheduled to be held on April 23-24 aims at blocking the NATO supplies from Peshawar.
The PTI sources confided to the Pakistan Today here on Monday that party had finalised the arrangements in this regard. They added that PTI has formed a committee under its leader in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Asad Qaiser to contact other political parties, students’ organisations, civil society organisations to make the show a success.
They claimed that Jamaat Islami (JI), Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (S), Dr Fouzia Siddiqui, Maulana Fazlur Rehman of JUI and a large number of tribal elders from FATA have agreed to participate in the sit-in. PTI’s Umer Cheema said his party was expecting encouraging response from other parties.
