PML-Q stages protest against Nisar’s ‘politics’

ISLAMABAD – More than 200 activists of PML-Q on Monday staged a protest demonstration outside the Parliament House against Opposition Leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan for creating hurdles in the construction of Saroba and Mujahid bridges in Rawalpindi. The protests were staged over what the PML-Q called political victimisation on part of PML-N leader, as he had stopped construction work on Soraba Bridge and Mujhaid Bridge.
The protesting activist from NA-53 and PP-7 constituencies, the home town of Chaudhry Nisar, were led by MPA Shafiq Khan. They shouted slogans against the PML-N for not starting construction work on Saroba Bridge and Mujahid Bridge. Addressing the protestors, Shafiq Khan said Nisar was doing politics of double-standards. “On one hand in parliament, he always talks about law and justice and on the other, he is adopting trickeries for taking revenge from his political opponents,” he said.
He said due to some political motives, Nisar had deprived the residents of their rights. Khan said despite orders by a high court, the opposition leader had gotten stopped the construction work on the said bridges when over 60 percent of work had been completed. He accused the PML-N leader of blocking all projects that had been started by the previous government.
