PM briefs president on Kabul visit

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Monday met President Asif Ali Zardari to take him into confidence about the decisions taken during his successful visit to Afghanistan. Official sources said the PM gave a detailed briefing to the president about his visit to Afghanistan during a one-on-one meeting held at the Presidency.
They exchanged views on the overall political situation of the country, proposed expansion in the cabinet, discussed the law and order and PPP’s contacts with other parties besides other important matters. Expressing his grave concern over incidents of target killings in Karachi, President Zardari directed the federal government to ensure protection of life and property of the people.
Sources said both leaders held extensive consultation over matters related to talks with coalition partners with reference to the extension in the federal cabinet and economic situation of the country. Gilani also apprised Zardari about the steps taken by the government to overcome energy shortage.
