KARACHI – At least five more people, including PPP and MQM workers, fell victim to the current spate of targeted killings in Karachi on Monday. Tension gripped parts of Gulistan-e-Jauhar and Orangi Town after the murders of political activists by unidentified motorcyclists. PPP activist Asghar Ali alias Behari was killed while his friend Ahmed Ali was injured when two motorcyclists opened fire at them in Bangla Bazaar.
Orangi Town Police Officer Khurram Waris told Pakistan Today that the two motorcyclists targeted Asghar when he was sitting inside his restaurant. Gulistan-e-Jauhar police recovered a handcuffed and bullet-riddled body of a 40-year-old man near Alladin Park. Gulistan-e-Jauhar Police Station House Officer Asif Jakhrani said police received a phone call tipping them of the presence of a body lying in a ground. The body was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for autopsy.
