KARACHI – A large city like Karachi needs more public toilets and the city government should make bylaws for this purpose and implement them immediately, Karachi District Coordination Officer (DCO) Muhammad Hussain Syed said on Monday. He was speaking at a meeting held in the committee room of Civic Centre.
“Public toilets need to be built in different areas of city, especially at public gathering points,” he said. The meeting was attended by EDO Revenue Roshan Ali Shaikh, Parks and Horticulture Director General Liaquat Ali Khan, EDO Works and Services Rasheed Mughal, EDO Municipal Services Masood Alam, Additional EDO Revenue Matanat Ali Khan, EDO E&IP Dr Saif-ur-Rehman, town administrators and other officers.
A committee was formed including Tasnim Ahmed Siddiqui, EDO Municipal Services Masood Alam and EDO Master Plan Iftikhar Qaimkhani that would prepare a policy for public toilets with the support of the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee.
