LAHORE – Four people killed a 35-year-old cable operator in the Baghbanpura Police Station precincts on Sunday. The victim was identified as Chaudhry Amanat Ali, a resident of Sirajpura. The deceased had started business of cable network in the area along with his friend Irfan Butt. A police official said that few months ago, both of them separated on a monetary dispute.
Notables of the area had settled the issue between the two partners some two weeks ago. On Sunday, Amanat was walking to Naseerabad Bazaar when Irfan’s brother Afnan Butt approached him along with three other accomplices on two motorcycles. The accused opened fire at the victim and fled due to which Amanat was critically injured.
After hearing bullet shots, local residents gathered at the spot and rushed the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Police reached the spot and removed the body to the morgue for autopsy. Police claimed that they had conducted raids to arrest the accused but they had fled after locking their houses.
A case has been registered on the complaint of the victim’s brother.
