Early completion of Sialkot-Gujranwala-Daska road ordered

GUJRANWALA – Gujranwala Division Commissioner Saeed Wahla has directed Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) to complete the project of Sialkot-Gujranwala-Daska road before the start of the rainy season.
He was addressing a meeting to review work on the project on Saturday. The meeting was attended by DCO Barrister Nabil Ahmad Awan, Director Development Anwar Aziz, FWO Project Manager Colonel Sibte Hassan Rana, Colonel Umar, Colonel Imran Zafar, Major Imran, XEN Provincial Highways Ajmal Kaleem and Director Engineering WASA Muhammad Arshad Madan.
It was briefed in the meeting that the project of 21.87-kilometer-long Gujranwala-Daska road would cost Rs 1.561 million with 30-foot-wide dual road and drainage system on either side. WASA has already been released Rs40 million for drains. The DCO said the WASA managing director had chalked out a strategy for speedy construction work to complete the drains within the set time.
The meeting also reviewed the construction of Garjakh Road, cleanliness of nullahs of Noshehra road and the construction work of eastern bypass besides the installation of traffic signals in the city.
