LAHORE – At a national level condolence reference on Dr Nabi Bakhsh Baloch, organized by PINA in Lahore, the speakers eulogized him as one of the greatest scholars, education researcher and living spirit of Pakistani unity.
The participants called for instituting chairs at various universities of Pakistan in memory of his unmatched contribution in the fields of history, literature, Sindhi language and education. The meeting also demanded that 100 great books of Islamic Civilization, as conceived by Dr Baloch in Hijra Council, should be published.
It was also resolved that to keep his name alive in the memory of new generation, roads in big cities should be named after him. The reference was presided over by Prof Dr Akram Ch, former vice chancellor Sargodha University and addressed by scholars.
Introducing the dimensions of the reference, Altaf Hasan Qureshee said that Dr Nabi Bakhsh Baloch, was one of the founders of Pakistan Institute of National Affairs and was its chairman for last several years. He had a strong commitment to Pakistan and was a living symbol of national unity.
In his scholarly works, he made creative efforts to integrate society on the fundamental principles of the Quran and projected the message of love and harmony of Shah Abdul Lateef Bhittai in modern context.
