DCO wants implementation of new theatre policy

LAHORE – Lahore District Coordination Officer (DCO) Ahad Cheema on Saturday ordered implementation of the new theatre policy, which was prepared after consensus of the Alhamra Arts Council, Punjab Home Department, Punjab Excise and Taxation Department, theatre owners and representatives, and the environment district officer’s (DO) Staff Officer Tariq Zaman. He was chairing a meeting to review the theatre policy.
Participants of the meeting agreed on the following points: All theatres should be closed until 12:30am, actors must follow the script, full dress rehearsal must be shown three days before start of the drama, strict security measures should be taken, action should be taken against sale of below standard and expensive food in canteens of theatres, artists will be banned forever for vulgar and dual meaning dialogues, CCTV cameras and scanning equipment be arranged at the main gate and all theatres should focus on hygiene.
