ISLAMABAD – The Supreme Court was informed on Friday that two missing people, Adnan and one other, were activists of a banned organisation Tehreek-e Islamia.
Appearing on notice in a case of two missing persons, Islamabad Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) Binyamin contended before the court that Zahida Parveen, mother of Adnan, was also an important activist of the Tehreek-e-Islamia.
A three-member bench of Justice Javed Iqbal, Justice Raja Fayyaz Ahmed and Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali was hearing a case of two missing people. The DIG said that earlier, a journalist Shakeel Turabi allegedly lied to the chief justice about his missing son who was later found working in Miran Shah, North Waziristan, as a member of a banned outfit. Muhammad Ikram Chaudhry, lawyer for the missing persons, contended that Adnan was forced to go Waziristan.
He said that the DIG was involved in the matter and knew Adnan’s whereabouts. The court then directed the DIG to cancel the bails of the accused involved in the case and probe into the matter.
