Civil society’s help sought for needy

PESHAWAR – Civil society should come forward to help needy community in collaboration with other governance institutions as the created gap is harmful for the people. It was said in a dialogue on “Challenges to Pakistani Civil Society in Emerging Situations” jointly organised by the Blue Veins and Citizen Rights and Sustainable Development (CRSD) at a local hotel in Peshawar where Area Study Centre Director Dr Sarfraz Khan was the chief guest.
Dr Sarfraz said lack of tolerance in the society and traditional barriers were the challenges which should be taken carefully. Qamar Naseem from Blue Vein, Dr iffat Aziz from CRSD, Muhammad Idrees Kamal from PCSN, Shakeela and Shazia from TI, Beenish Iram from Women Concern Organisation, Shahid from Human Creeda and Irfan from STEP were among the participants.
