8-month-old girl becomes 7th polio sufferer in province this year

KARACHI – A new polio case was reported in Karachi on Friday, according to Sindh Health Department’s Public Relations Officer Saleem Khan.
18-month-old Maria Tawab Khan, resident of Baloch Colony in Orangi Town, was diagnosed with the onset of polio on March 29, whereas, according to the final report, it was confirmed on Friday that she has polio.
“Her vaccination status is zero plus seven and she is suffering from P-1 type polio virus,” Khan said.
With this new case, the total number of cases in Sindh has reached seven this year, whereas the total reported cases in Pakistan are 27.
