‘Gas load shedding will end by next month’

KARACHI – Petroleum Secretary Imtiaz H Kazi on Thursday assured that load shedding for compressed natural gas (CNG) will end by the next month.
He said this while talking to a delegation led by CNG Station Owners Association Chairman Malik Khuda Baksh, which had called on Kazi and Gas Director General Mohammad Azam for discussing the problems being faced by CNG retailers and consumers due to the ongoing gas load shedding.
Kazi and Azam explained that due to annual repair and maintenance including replacement of some pipelines due to wear and tear compiled with the ever-increasing demand for gas, the situation was likely to continue until the end of the month.
The Petroleum secretary assured that after meeting with all stakeholders by the end of April, decisions will be taken to resolve the present problems and relief will be provided to both the retailers and consumers of compressed natural gas.
Appreciating the efforts being made by the government, Baksh expressed that he could understand the situation and assured his full cooperation to the government in amicable resolution of the hardships being faced by the CNG consumers.
