WB team calls on NetSol

LAHORE – A team of World Bank (WB) economic experts has visited NetSol Technologies to prepare a case study on the organisation’s notable success story. Former Finance Minister and World Bank Vice President Shahid Javed Burki led the team which included Senior Economist for South Asia Region Eric D Manes, and Lead Economist for Morocco and Algeria Jose R Lopez-Calix. The purpose of this visit was to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing Pakistan’s IT industry and to understand the policy levers that could help its growth.
In this context, the team was particularly interested in understanding NetSol’s rise to Pakistan’s leading IT software exporter with a global blue-chip customer base and the only local software development facility assessed at CMMi Level 5, the highest international standard in software process maturity. NetSol CO and Chairman Salim Ghauri provided a comprehensive account of the firm’s history including key milestones, important decisions and management approach toward challenges and opportunities. The World Bank team appreciated NetSol management for sharing the company’ success story and for facilitating the ongoing study.
