SIALKOT – Pakistan Engineering Council Chairperson Rukhsana Zuberi has said that surgical industry of Sialkot has a huge potential of increasing its exports globally and exploring and capturing the new international trade markets. She stated this while addressing the participants of a day-long workshop on “Challenges and Potentials of Sialkot’s Surgical Industry”. She underlined the need to promote solar energy in surgical industry, saying that it was high time that every one should be made aware of his pivotal role in saving Sialkot’s surgical industry.
The workshop was held at Surgical Instruments manufacturers Association (SIMA) of Pakistan here under the auspices of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Production.
The participants sought the proper government patronage for promoting surgical instruments and the easy access of Sialkot-based surgical instruments manufacturers and exporters to the international markets.
Addressing the participants, Surgical Instruments Manufacturers Association (SIMA) Chairman Waqar Ameen said that more than one century-old surgical industry of Sialkot was in dire need of modernization. He called for adopting positive steps for advanced standards of international marketing to save the surgical industry. He added the Sialkot-based surgical manufacturers and exporters had enough potential to capture the international markets if the government properly patronised it.
