LAHORE – The Pakistan Badminton Federation on Thursday elected its new office-bearers following the court directives to hold fresh elections. The elections were ordered after two rival groups claimed legitimacy. Amer Hayat Khan Rokhri led one group while Nazar Gondal heads the other group. The court last month issued directives to the Pakistan Olympics Association to hold re-elections and present the elected officials’ list before the court for formal announcement.
So a delegation of the POA headed by Syed Aqil Shah with Khaliq Khan, supervised and observed the elections and reserved the decision for the court to announce. Mian Iftikhar and Rokhri dominated the president and secretary elections of the federation but the official announcement will be made as par the court directives.
