Partial strike across Punjab on APCNGA call

LAHORE/ISLAMABAD – Only a partial closure of CNG stations was seen in Lahore on Wednesday, while a mixed response was seen in the twin cities as petrol was being sold in the federal capital by the evening.
The strike call was given by the All Pakistan CNG Association for an indefinite closure against the two-day-a-week holiday of CNG stations in Punjab. A majority of CNG stations In Lahore remained open, resulting in the reported failure of APCNGA strike in the provincial capital.
Consumers welcomed the decision of CNG station owners to keep sales open. Apologising to consumers for the closure of the CNG stations across Punjab on Wednesday, the APCNGA announced the continuation of its strike until the acceptance of its demands.
Customers in the twin cities faced hardships in the morning rush hour when even petrol stations stopped selling fuel to show solidarity with CNG station owners. The situation improved in the afternoon when filling station owners in the federal capital resumed the sale of petrol.
In Faisalabad, owners of CNG stations staged a rally to protest against closure of supply to CNG stations in Faisalabad. Hundreds of CNG stations owners took out a protest rally from Station Chowk on the call of APCNGA.
