Government presents energy saving plan

ISLAMABAD – An energy saving plan was presented to the National Assembly by the government on Thursday.
According to the proposed energy saving plan presented by the Federal Water and Power Ministry, shops and markets are to close at 8:00pm and the number of active streetlights on roads and highways would be decreased.
According to the plan, up to 50percent of the lights of all federal and provincial secretariats, chief ministers’ houses, the Presidency, the PM House and Secretariat, all governors’ houses, federal and provincial ministers’ offices and residences would also be slashed.
The use of air conditioners would also be decreased – their usage would be allowed after 11:00am only to authorized officers.
