SC takes up presidential reference today

ISLAMABAD – The Supreme Court will today (Wednesday) take up for preliminary hearing the presidential reference seeking a review of the Zulfikar Ali Bhutto hanging case. A three-member bench of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Muhammad Sair Ali and Justice Ghulam Rabbani will conduct the hearing and will be assisted by the attorney general.
The reference was filed by President Asif Ali Zardari under his advisory jurisdiction to seek an opinion on revisiting the death sentence awarded to former prime minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
