ISLAMABAD – The Capital Development Authority (CDA) may not be able to complete many of its projects including the Zero Point Interchange (ZPI) due to paucity of funds. The cash-strapped CDA announced the completion of ZPI by December 2010 but was still not sure how long would it take to materialise the Rs 3 billion project, a CDA official told Pakistan Today.
The official said the ZPI contractor had slowed down the project work and might stop it if the CDA further delayed payment of Rs 300 million that he desperately needed to complete the project. He said not only ZPI but completion of CDA’s all ongoing development projects were also likely to go beyond the set deadlines due to lack of funds.
These projects, he added, were development of sectors D-12 and I-15, construction of Cultural Complex at Shakarparian, development of Fatima Jinnah Park in F-9 sector and up-gradation of Marghzar Zoo.
