The IGP Islamabad announced the implementation of a pilot security project, initially limited to the Shalimar police station jurisdiction. This new system, if successful, will be implemented in the rest of the city as well. According to this new system, a constable or head constable will be assigned three streets and it will be his responsibility to collect data and information regarding the people living there. These constables will be supervised by respective Assistant Sub -inspectors, who will report to respective Additional Station House Officers. The constable In-charge of the streets would also be responsible for the complaints. This system seems a great effort by the police department and hopefully will improve the law and order situation of the capital city. Hopefully, this system would be replicated in the whole city and finally in other cities as well.
