ISLAMABAD – Federal Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Babar Awan presented his resignation in the Supreme Court on Wednesday to appear as a lawyer in Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s reference case.
“I prefer this case to my portfolio as the minister,” Babar replied to Pakistan’s Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry when asked he (Awan) couldn’t pursue the case as a minister.
“My arguments are based on facts, not sentiments,” said Awan.
“We all are serious and giving this case great importance,” CJP Chaudhry said.
Several Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leaders including Qamar-uz-Zaman Kaira, Nayyar Bukhari, Raja Parvez Ashraf, et cetera, were present in court.
The court has adjourned the hearing till Thursday.

  1. Barristor Aitzaz Ahsan has expressed his deep desire to fight ZAB acquittal case in the apex court. Thank God and thanks to the supreme court who have barred Babar Awan from appearing in Bhutto case as he is the one who had allegedly distributed sweets in the courts
