JACOBABAD – At least one person was injured when a bomb planted on the railway track exploded and badly damaged the engine of Khushhal Khan Khattak express here in Thal area of Jacobabad on Wednesday.
According to Railway officials, Khushhal Khan Khatak Express was going from Karachi to Peshawar, near Goth Garhi Hassan Sarki when a bomb planted on railway track exploded with big bang injuring the driver and badly damaging the engine of the Khushhal Khan Khattak Express and the railway track, luckily the passengers remained save.
Soon after the blast the heavy police contingent rushed at the site and started search operation.
The Railway administration said that steps are being taken to ply the train through alternative engine. The administration further said that the blast damaged 5 feet part of the railway track and it would take 24 hour to repair the track.
The teams have been sought from Sukkur to repair the damaged track.
