LAHORE – DIG Operations Lahore Rao Sardar Ali Khan has dismissed seven Lahore Police officials including three inspectors after the charges of corruption, patronising land mafia and releasing a murder accused were provem in separate departmental inquiries on Tuesday. Lahore Police Spokesman Nayab Haider said DIG Operations has dismissed inspectors Tahir Zain ul Abidin and Muzammil Hussain and a sub-inspector Saeed Anwar from service after the charges of misuse of power, corruption and registrations of fake cases were proven. Earlier, the officials were suspended from service and a departmental inquiry was initiated against them.
In a separate inquiry, Inspector Sibtain Shah, Badami Bagh SHO and sub-inspector Mushtaq Tariq were proved guilty of patronising land mafia. A complainant, Arif, appeared before the DIG Operations and complained that the head of a land mafia, Tahir Waqas, had grabbed his house in connivance with Inspector Sibtain Shah and SI Mushtaq Tariq. The DIG ordered a departmental inquiry in which the two officials were proved guilty. Following the inquiry, DIG Operations dismissed them from service.
In another inquiry, Inspector Muhammad Rafiq and ASI Asghar Ali were proven guilty of releasing a murder accused after taking bribe from the accused. Both officials were dismissed.
