Mushahid for greater political will to resolve nation’s problems

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) Secretary General Mushahid Hussain Monday called for broad-based consensus between all the political parties for evolving a joint strategy on major challenges confronted by the country. Identifying the four major challenges as economy, energy, education and terrorism at a press conference here, he said that no single party could steer the country out of the challenging situation. MNA Marvi Memon and Deputy Secretary Information Ghulam Mustafa Malik was also present on the occasion.
Mushahid said the government should take the initiative and urge the political leadership to rise above the party-lines to devise a joint strategy for the challenging situation. He urged the government to take all the decisions in the parliament.Responding to a query, Mushahid Hussain said his party was working to form a third force to give the people a ‘third option’ as the PPP and the PML-N had failed to govern at the centre and the Punjab.
He said that the government was long on rhetoric and short in action and the performance of the Sindh government was evident from the fact that 87 people had been reportedly kidnapped from the province recently.
Meanwhile, he claimed that 0. 1million of total 0.5 million Watan Cards issued to the flood affected people were found fake. He said Sindh government was victimising its opponents which was a ‘source of concern’ for his party.He said his party leader Ch Shujaat Hussain and other leaders would visit Sindh from May 8 to reorganise the party there. Marvi Memon unveiled her party’s 11-point agenda for the National Assembly’s session started on Monday.
