IED claims three lives in Parachinar


PESHAWAR – At least three persons were killed and eight others injured when a passenger vehicle hit an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) near Parachinar, headquarter of Kurram Agency, on Monday morning. The officials at Parachinar said that the ill-fated vehicle was on its way from Karman to Parachinar when the incident occurred.
The IED had been planted by the militants in the area. At least three of the passengers died on the spot while eight severely wounded were rushed to the Agency Headquarter Hospital. No militant outfit claimed responsibility for the IED attack till the filing of the story. However, it was believed to be an act of local Taliban as those killed were stated to be of Shia origin.
