GB Assembly passes two resolutions in favour of President Zardari

GILGIT – The Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly (GBA) on Monday passed two resolutions supporting President Asif Ali Zardari in reference with reopening the case of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto by the Supreme Court of Pakistan and against abusive language used by the opposition leader, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, for President Zardari. At the 12th regular session of GBA, chaired by Speaker Wazir Baig, the resolution regarding investigation of Bhutto case was tabled by the adviser to Chief Minister (CM) Saadia Zia, which was passed unanimously.
While the resolution presented by Wazir Hassan regarding abusive language of Nisar Ali Khan that witnessed opposition of PML-Q members, was passed overwhelmingly. Provincial Law Minister Wazir Shakil also presented a resolution of Civil Servant Act which was handed over to the committee for considerations on the bill. The speaker observed that drinking water and electricity had become big problems and the government ought to make efforts to address these issues.
Earlier, independent member Syed Raziud Din Rizvi tendered his unconditional apologies for hurling threats to the assembly of blowing it with bombs.He said he became emotional and gave such statements but later realised his mistake and apologised to his colleagues for his act.
