10 ulema booked

SAHIWAL – The district police have registered cases against the khateebs of 10 mosques for violating Loudspeaker Ordinance. Those booked are: Qari Hakim ALi of Dosahra Ground, Niaz Ahmed of Chak 134-9L, Hafiz Muhammad Ramzan of Afzal Colony, Molvi Muhammad Yousaf of Chak 85-6R, Moulana Arshed of Harappa, Hafiz Qamer Shahzad of Chak 1-10l, Muhammad Ashfaq of Chak 32-9L and Qari Ghulam of Chak 116-12L. No arrest has been made so far.
DRIVER KILLED IN ACCIDENT: One person was killed and two others were injured in a road accident near A-Block Farid Town. Reportedly, rickshaw driver Waris Ali died instantly and two passengers received grievous injuries when a speedy car collided with his rickshaw.
TRUCK SNATCHED: At least five dacoits in police uniforms snatched a truck from its driver on Lahore-Multan Road and fled away. A truck driver, Jafar, was going from Lahore to Multan in a loaded truck. When he reached near Chak 187-9L, five dacoits in police uniforms stopped it on the pretext of search. Then they snatched the truck at gunpoint from the driver, threw him into the fields and escaped.
