Two shot over old enmity

LAHORE – Four armed men killed two persons, including a 12-year-old boy, and left another injured over old enmity near Phuman Shah Shrine in Madni Colony within Mughalpura Police Station’s precincts on Sunday night. Latif alias Kala Gujjar (45) and Adnan (12) were the two victims.
The injured has been identified as Saif (28), a security guard of Kala Gujjar who, according to the police, had an old enmity with Bahadra over the drugs trafficking. According to details, Bahadra had also killed Kala Gujjar’s brother, Amjad, while Kala was pursing the case against the accused.
The accused Bahadra left the area after killing Kala’s brother while the latter occupied his house. But Bahadra and his four accomplices on Sunday targeted Kala when he was sitting in a local park near his house along with a security guard. An eyewitness told this correspondent that the attackers reached the crime scene on foot and sprayed the bullets on the victims.
As a result, Kala and his body guard received serious bullets wounds while a boy playing in the park, Adnan, also fell victim to a stray bullet. The victims were rushed to a local hospital where doctors pronounced the two as dead while the condition of the injured guard is stated to be critical.
Police after being informed reached the spot and removed the bodies to morgue. But it has failed to arrest any of the accused and no case was registered till the filing of this report.
