LAHORE – Pakistan Boxing Federation president Doda Khan Bhutto has been elected as the Asian Boxing Confederation vice president. He beat his Nepalese rival Ravi Raj Thapa to secure the position in the ASBC. Doda also working with the International Boxing Association (AIBA) as the vice chairman of the AIBA athlete and youth commission and has the same post in the ASBC.
The ASBC elections were held in Azerbaijan from April 8 and 9. Thirty countries took part in the elections.
Doda got 22 votes against Ravi Raj’s 8 votes, while Nevia from Sri Lanka withdrew in favor of the Pakistani. Meanwhile, Mohammad Akram Khan, secretary PBF, was also elected vice chairman of the referee and judge commission of the Asian Boxing Confederation. The PBF has recommended two more persons for different ASBC commissions and the PBF officials believe that they too will be elected.
