Security beefed up around Kasur shrines

KASUR – Security has been beefed up in all the shrines situated in Kasur, said DPO Gohar Nafees at a press conference on Sunday. He said since terrorists were targeting shrines, close-circuit TV cameras had been installed in and around these shrines.
He added all the shrines would be closed at 8pm for the visitors to control the law and order. He also appealed to ulema, politions, traders and jounalists to help the police protect the visitors.
TWO DRUG PEDDLERS CONVICTED: Additional District and Sessions Judge Jawad-ul-Hassan awarded life imprisonment and Rs 100,000 fine to two accused in a narcotics case. The accused will have to undergo one-year additional imprisonment if they fail to pay the fine.
According to the prosecution, the police had recovered 25kg charas and 8kg hashish from the convicts.
